SUNNY’S BOOK TRUCK

Visual identity for an independent mobile bookstore based in yuma, arizona.

  • CJ Alberts, an avid reader turned mobile bookstore owner, came to me with the goal to create a brand that felt joyful, approachable, and most importantly how books make people feel — full of life!

The wordmark is composed of symmetrical and mirrored letterforms that evoke feelings of nostalgia, the human hand, and movement.

The secondary marks utilize playful color blocking and rounded forms. The brand’s mascot “Sunny” is happily getting lost in a good book.

Just like the range of genres offered, Sunny is designed to change faces, moods, and looks throughout the brand.

Merch is a huge part of how the brand comes to life. From bookmarks to water bottles to hats and more, the brand aims to collaborate with different designers and artists every few months to release a new merch item, allowing the brand to feel alive and have an evolving narrative, just like books!
